Indian Democracy

Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy. You in America will see that some day. - Italian dictator Benito Mussolini

The Prime Minister of India would barely differ on this thought of the most renowned dictator of all time. India is a big country, gifted with so much of beauty of every kind. Being a democracy makes this country even more striking. Indian democracy like any other political establishments in the world has experienced innumerable hurdles. On many occasions the values of democracy were compromised and suppressed by the establishment but the country never failed to revive its core values which led the country nowhere but to the democratic paths. The term democracy itself opens up much more about the country's tendency, especially if a country is of India's size and vastness. The journey of India as a significant democratic state has surely not been like a roller coaster ride. Considering, all of the turbulence and upheavals of each phase India crossed by so far. Notwithstanding all barriers the wheels of democracy never punctured.

However, In the current scenario the democratic wheels of the country is severely entangled in the authoritative mud and no other factor than the lotus itself which is to be held responsible for this deep mud. Moreover, 2019 has been a dramatic year for the BJP. Achievements being many. BJP became the first non-congress party in the history of Indian democracy for being received two straightaways mandates one after another. All misadventures aside, BJP has successfully delivered its much awaited promise. Abrogation of Article 370. One more box was checked with widespread celebrations on 9th of November 2019 when the Supreme Court announced its much awaited and largely expected verdict on the disputed land of Ayodhya, became even more controversial after the demolition of Babri Mosque on 6th of December 1992.

Thereafter the Trishool of Hindutva entered the battlefield to target a considerable part of population. Majority of which hails from deprived classes. Trishool is being referred for the trio of NRC-CAA-NPR. Mathematics of this trio is basically against the constitutional morality. Many commentators do believe that the policy of NRC-CAA-NPR is nothing but an ignoble trick played on the people which would further be extending the vulnerabilities of deprived section. Majorly Muslims. "Branding the CAA immoral and against the spirit of the constitution." a celebrated historian and author, Ramachandra Guha admonished. A prominent psephologist and politician, Yogendra Yadav said, "CAA-NRC-NPR are a package deal, and they are not a package deal by accident. They were designed as a package deal... This is as if it's a board on India's border saying 'No Muslims please thank you we are India.' If you are concerned about minorities, why not look China which has persecuted Muslim minority."

Countrywide protests were held and are still going on an extensive scale. Central Universities being the storm centers for all this. Not just students but a large numbers of people from different fields came out on streets with posters in hands. This included towering personalities like Javed Akhtar & Anurag Kashyap. A strong large force of people united across the nation in order to save the democratic soul and to push out the democratic wheels which's been shackled in the anti-democratic mud.

As always, the government did not look in mood to welcome these dissents. Rather it employed all its muscles to backfire. On 16th of December 2019, Delhi Police an instrument of the Union government showcased its instrument (Lathi, Guns & Muscles) on the students of Jamia Millia Islamia. Lathi was charged, Guns were fired in and out the campus. Library was attacked. This brutal exercise of power actually charged up the dissenters and strengthened their voices. Jawaharlal Nehru University on the first Sunday of 2020 suffered with a major attack. Group of more than 50 masked people armed with rods, sticks and acid attacked the campus of the university and injured more than 35 students and professors. Vasant Kunj police station is barely a kilometer away from the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, still state-sponsored goons managed to get away after the accomplishment of their collective task. This incident too expanded the ongoing revolutionary protest. Now, the atrocities by the government is governing the anger of the masses. Current ongoing campaign against the establishment is expected to develop for a massive change.

Current political establishment of the country is profoundly engrossed in defining and practicing the fascist regime. India has never been a land where a single ideology had dominated over the entire population and that too at the cost of fundamental rights. Indians have never accepted any radicalized thought to govern over themselves. India is certainly not Italy or as homogeneous as Italy to be governed on Fascism, Diversity defines India. India is a beautiful blend of all kinds of thoughts. India is a thought in itself. No single ideology is strong enough to determine the boundaries of it.

Modi & Interviews: A Beautiful Love Story

Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India has not faced a single press-conference yet. It hardly makes an impact on his screen-time of media coverage. There's not a single day passed by in last five years when the shows were running out of Modi. India has always been an important country and still it is respected as one. But Prime Ministers weren't always this important. It's not India who got all the glory and significance in these five years but it's the Prime Minister's chair which has suddenly got the enormous importance in these five years. Glory of PM is now greater than that of India. Modi gets credit for every single achievement of India but he does not face any kind of criticism for the failures. Projection of Modi as Mr. Perfect is being done by none other than the fourth pillar of democracy: The Media. Fourth Pillar of the democracy is now extravagantly busy in building the image of PM. After being served by journalists our honorable PM has given

ESCAPISM

Undoubtedly, BJP possesses the largest number of seats in the parliament comparatively. Does it only show the kind of support BJP is having in this era? Does not it show the responsibilities and expectations of one-fifth population of the globe on Mr. Modi's shoulders? The Prime Minister of the largest democracy would certainly have the heaviest burden on his shoulders and he should behave accordingly. Rather than escaping himself through condemnations, denunciations and disagreements. Disagreements in the democracy is as obvious as death in the life.  A democracy like India which has the population over a billion, one should not get surprised on disagreements on every possible issue & policy. In a democracy it is already expected that there will be differences in opinions and interests on almost every specific issue of common interest. Indeed, this diversity is seen as its main strength and it calls for tolerance for all shades of opinion. One can not even imagine
