Modi & Interviews: A Beautiful Love Story

Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India has not faced a single press-conference yet. It hardly makes an impact on his screen-time of media coverage. There's not a single day passed by in last five years when the shows were running out of Modi. India has always been an important country and still it is respected as one. But Prime Ministers weren't always this important. It's not India who got all the glory and significance in these five years but it's the Prime Minister's chair which has suddenly got the enormous importance in these five years. Glory of PM is now greater than that of India. Modi gets credit for every single achievement of India but he does not face any kind of criticism for the failures.

Projection of Modi as Mr. Perfect is being done by none other than the fourth pillar of democracy: The Media. Fourth Pillar of the democracy is now extravagantly busy in building the image of PM. After being served by journalists our honorable PM has given them several interviews for the sake of their TRPs. All of these interviews were absolutely irrelevant on political grounds. No journalist had shown the audacity to counter him on his failures. Patriotism of Hemant Karkare can be questioned by the BJP leader but Prime Minister can not be questioned for the security leakage in Pulwama. This is how our media operates when it comes to Narendra Modi. Our PM did an interview with the censor board chief Prasoon Joshi and shown the whole world what is the class of Modi's interview. Shamelessly, Prasoon Joshi crossed the every limit of sycophancy in that interview which was executed in Westminster Townhall, London.

Today, journalists are not interested in those promises and policies which were delivered by PM himself. Nobody encircles PM on the statuses of those promises and policies. Ethically, journalists should always portray the reality no matter how unpleasant it seems to be. Influence of corporate forces in current political scenario is unprecedented. Influence of those forces can be seen in every interview of our honourable Prime Minister. Recently, PM Modi did an interview with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and that interview was termed as "Non-Political or Apolitical Interview". Akshay Kumar asked all those questions which have already been asked many a times by many a people. The only new information of country's favour which came to us is "In how many ways a MANGO can be eaten?" However, Our Prime Minister barely touches any relevant issue in any interview. Prime Minister targets the rival leaders in many ways while addressing election rallies. He barely addresses about the policies and the programs of the government. Criticizing others is very obvious and expected from any political leader but while doing an interview not only our PM but the journalists also criticize the opposition leaders. Journalists tend to highlight the flaws of other parties to impress the Prime Minister.

Recently in an interview, after being questioned on "Demonetization" Modi  accused Rahul Kanwal that he's sounding like a congress leader. PM Modi was educating Kanwal for enhancing his interview taking skills. He guided him what should be asked and what shouldn't be. Modi enlightened Kanwal just because Modi is not used to discuss anything political in any kind of interview whether it's political or apolitical. Modi can only answer about his daily routine and that's something we must be aware of. Modi is certainly more important than India these days and Indians are not even the list of priority. Modi and interviews have been a beautiful love story in these five years. Issues of Modi are the real issues. Rs. 1000 rupees notes are irrelevant today but coin of 25 paise is still making sense PM takes 1.25 Rupees from his mother as a pocket money.

Modi has also proven Dr. Manmohan Singh wrong on his different economic vision for the country. The man who can correct an excellent journalist and a veteran economist can also deliver a lecture on Rocket Science in NASA. Journalists play a very significant role in a democracy. Information are not being served these days. Journalists have no relevance today. Today, "government is running media and media is serving government" is all we can say and see. It's not just media that's been hijacked by the modi-government. The same story goes with every independent constitutional institutions.

ESCAPISM

Undoubtedly, BJP possesses the largest number of seats in the parliament comparatively. Does it only show the kind of support BJP is having in this era? Does not it show the responsibilities and expectations of one-fifth population of the globe on Mr. Modi's shoulders? The Prime Minister of the largest democracy would certainly have the heaviest burden on his shoulders and he should behave accordingly. Rather than escaping himself through condemnations, denunciations and disagreements. Disagreements in the democracy is as obvious as death in the life.  A democracy like India which has the population over a billion, one should not get surprised on disagreements on every possible issue & policy. In a democracy it is already expected that there will be differences in opinions and interests on almost every specific issue of common interest. Indeed, this diversity is seen as its main strength and it calls for tolerance for all shades of opinion. One can not even imagine
